EOSS Frequencies:

Global Frequencies

  • Preflight Net:
    • 147.225 MHz 8 pm MDT preceding Saturday night
      • 145.160 MHz simulcast in the Springs
      • 145.460 MHz (Located in Boulder, CO this repeater needs to be manually linked, ask for local assistance)
    • 146.640 MHz will serve as a backup frequency
  • Tracking and Recovery Operations
    • 146.970 MHz PPFMA Repeater(100 Hz Tone)
      • This is, I believe, the first time we have ventured down to the wide area coverage Pikes Peak FM Associations 2 meter machine.

It is important to EOSS that we be regarded as good neighbors on this machine. It carries MUCH more traffic than its cousin the 448.450 machine. We have been asked to accommodate the other users of this machine as WE are the guests here.

So, when someone breaks in to make a quick call, remember, we're just visiting, it's their turf we tread upon. EOSS thanks all the trackers for their respect of this machine's user community.

    • 146.550 MHz simplex (same simplex for field and launch ops)
    • Repeater Coverage Pages - Listings of all repeaters available in the expected flight areas.
    • There may be FRS operations. Not expected this flight but see THIS PAGE for a list of channel numbers and their associated UHF Frequencies.
    • 7.228 MHz HF (sporadic usage)
    • DO NOT USE 448.450 MHz - PPFMA approval has been denied as ARES will be using the repeater for the Simulated Emergency Test (SET).
  • HF Net
    • 7.228 MHz
      • The HF net may or may not be in operation for any particular flight. It depends on whether or not we get a volunteer net control station.
      • This net will move UP (away from Advanced and Extra band slices) to accommodate QRM. It should not set up above 7.250 MHz so if you don't hear it in that slice of spectrum, it is probably inactive. However station to station traffic for the Tracking and Recovery guys might pop up.

Notes:

Our Customer

This is a volunteer flight by EOSS in support of the Scouts Jamboree on the Air.

EOSS welcomes all to join in the fun making contacts via the cross band repeater. We do ask that you give priority to the different scouting groups who are attempting contacts through the repeater. We want them to make scout to scout contacts. But if there is a dearth of other scouting groups (as has happened in the past) your distant contact to local scouts in the Colorado area will be appreciated.
