EOSS-363/364 Metro State University & Littleton EPIC Launch - Recap

On Saturday November 16, 2024 two 3000g non-exempt balloons were launced from Deer Trail Colorado as follows:

  • EOSS-363, Metro State University Intro2Space student payloads was launched at 7:07am MST and reached an altitude of approximately 106,234 feet MSL. The balloon landed at 9:16am in northeast Colorado, approximately 20 miles southwest of Holyoke Colorado, 41 feet west of north-south County Road 11, south of east-west County Road 6.
  • EOSS-364, Littleton EPIC program student payloads was launched at 7:38am MST and reached an altitude of 87,498 feet MSL at 8:24am. The balloon landed at 9:04am 107 feet west of County Road XX, south of east-west County Road 57.

This will be two 3000g balloons or three 2000g balloons carrying a combination of student-built payloads from:

  • Metro State University Intro2Space course
  • Littleton Public Schools EPIC aerospace program

DMR Rocky Mountain Wide has been approved on the RMHAM system including both deployable repeaters.

The current prediction is near the new Holyoke RMHAM DMR repeater.

EOSS XPR7550 radions will be available from the Ground Station for T&R folks who need them and should be returned to Alpha at one of the landing sites.  They are set on the EOSS T&R Roam zone and include the new Holyoke DMR repeater.
