Current Packaging
The build configuration is very similar to the original so,
close-up photos below will still accurately identify components.
This package is a complete packet radio system incorporating GPS
for beaconing out position information on the payload string.

On
the rear wall is the Rockwell GPS unit. In addition, there is a barometric
pressure sensor installed on the left side of the compartment.
Below
is the Alinco DJ-C1 transceiver used to send and receive packets.

Kantronics, KPC3 Plus TNC. The only modification made here, the extraction
of the board from the metal housing that the TNC is normally mounted in.
On
the upper surface of the payload is a BNC connector for the two meter antenna,
and at the bottom of the picture is a GPS receive antenna.
The
base of the payload contains the battery power supply.
